Widows Link is a ministry that helps widows connect with each other, discover the love God has for them, and empower them to fulfill the plan God has for their life. Widowhood is only the next step in the plan God has for a widow and we are here to help widows live life fully in this season of their lives. May 3rd is National Widows Day in the United States. We have created hand outs for churches to use to bring awareness to this day, as well as ideas to bless a widow on this national day of recognition.
2025 Cruise Registration is Open!
The dates are set and the registration is now open!
Each year we say, “Disconnect from life, Come connect with us!” The Widows Cruise is an amazing way to get away from the stresses of life and connect with women from around the United States and enjoy getting waited on hand and foot!
No one can understand the path a widow walks unless you have been there. This cruise is the opportunity for you to connect with other widows, share stories, and take a deep breath for a little while. You will also enjoy hearing from our Director, Marlene Craft. She herself has walked through widowhood now for the past 13 years and has a passion to help widows to live life to the full.
You will experience fine dining, breathtaking views, but most importantly, you will have the chance to experience relationships you simple can’t find in the culture we live in today. We look forward to sharing these trips with you and learning how to discover how God is not finished with us yet!
How to Begin a Widows Ministry

The apostle James tells us that "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows" (James 1:27 NLT), yet widows are often left to traverse their grief journey alone. That should not be. When widows connect with one another in a church small group setting, the burden becomes lighter and healing can begin.
This book is a guide for anyone with a heart for widows to start an effective ministry where widows are cared for and enriched.
Beyond just information and a plan, How to Begin a Widows Ministry equips church leaders with practical resources to help you get the necessary approvals and coordinate with volunteers to start your widows' ministry. The Calling
MANY WIDOWS ARE AT THE END OF THEIR LIFE AND NEED TO KNOW CHRIST AND THE HOPE THAT HE CAN BRING TO THEIR LIVES. JAMES 1:27 TELLS US THAT, “PURE AND GENUINE RELIGION BEFORE GOD THE FATHER IS THAT WE CARE FOR THE WIDOWS AND ORPHANS”. WIDOWS LINK EXISTS TO HELP CHURCHES IN ACCOMPLISHING THIS.
The Need
THERE ARE MORE THAN 15 MILLION WIDOWS IN THE U.S. AND AN ADDITIONAL 700,000 WOMEN LOSING THEIR HUSBANDS EACH YEAR, THIS IS A GREAT AREA OF NEED WITHIN OUR COMMUNITIES. THE APPROACH OF “WIDOWS LINK” IS CENTERED ON CHURCH-BASED SMALL GROUPS THAT REACH OUT TO WIDOWS WITHIN THE CHURCH AND OUTSIDE COMMUNITY. EACH CHURCH WILL CULTIVATE ITS OWN WIDOWS GROUP.
